Teri Cox Cotney, 58, of Chapin died Monday, July 17, 2017 at Palmetto Health Hospital Parkridge.
Born on March 3, 1959 in Newberry County, she was a daughter of Elene Bush Cox of Chapin and the late Luke Cox.
Teri was a member of Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church. She enjoyed travels to the mountains, especially to Pigeon Forge, and loved the beauty of tulips.
In addition to her mother Elene Cox, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Nelson Cotney; sons, Barry Nelson Cotney (Retha Dailey) of Chapin and Bryon Lee Cotney of Little Mountain; daughter, Stephanie Woods (Jene) of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren, Kristen Renee Burris, Lindsey Cheyenne Cotney, Tiffany Lynn Cotney and Luke Hall, III; great grandchild, Leah Beth Burris; and siblings, Glen Cox (Pam) of Little Mountain and Bruce Cox (Carolyn) of Caryville, TN.
She was predeceased by her father, Luke Cox; grandparents, Lottie and Thomas Bush; daughter-in-law, Jessica Morris and sister-in-law, Kim Diane Hyler.
The family will be at the home of Elene Cox, 110 Cox Court, Chapin, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 20 at the Whitaker Funeral Chapel in Newberry conducted by the Rev. Ralph Hill.
