Obituary

Terri Trichell Adams, 69, of Prosperity, South Carolina died Friday, February 13th, 2026, with her family beside her. She was born November 26th, 1956 in Marshall, TX, to the late J.D. and Myrtle Morris Trichell.

Nothing brought Terri more joy than her family. She was the glue that held everything together. She poured all that she had into loving, caring for, and staying connected to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. From t-ball and baseball to cheerleading at all ages, if there was an event, MawMaw was there.

She was also a gracious, loving, and caring daughter-in-law; her mother-in-law thought the world of her, loved her, and enjoyed every minute that they spent together. She will be missed tremendously. Her monthly birthday celebrations, daily phone calls, special meals, and continued efforts to bring everyone together were the heartbeat of the family.

The family story found its beginning when Michael and Terri met in the 5th grade. To this day, Michael remembers what she was wearing, and Terri remembers him teasing her with bugs the night their families came together for dinner. By the 7th grade, they were officially an item, and what followed would be a journey of true love, devotion, and selflessness. They were married for 50 years on February 7th.

Terri was also an incredible friend, who retained connections with those she cared about all through her life. Trips home to Louisiana meant she was gathering people together. Here in Newberry, she and Michael became extremely close to a group of Sunday School couples affectionately referred to as “The Gang of 10.” Terri was generous with her time and love and lived a life of appreciating every moment. Most people thought they were Terri’s best friend, simply because of how she treated them.

She was a person of deep faith who will be remembered for her faith and trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is a source of comfort and peace for her family as they honor and remember her.

In addition to her husband, Michael, Terri is survived by her children Jinni (Jeff) Friend, Steven Adams, and Clay Adams; grandchildren, Seth (Connor), Jordyn, Hayden, Peyton, Gracyn Friend, Lily Kate Adams, and great grandson Sullivan. Also surviving are her brother, Ricky (Dionne) Trichell; her siblings-in-law, David (Jan) Adams, Ken (Sara) Adams, Robin (Todd) Searcy, mother-in-law, Janie Adams, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Terri is also survived by her beloved fur babies, Daisy and Oakley.

In addition to her parents, Terri was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Adams, and father-in-law, Lemoyne Adams.

A Celebration of Terri’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 3:00 PM, at First Baptist Church, Newberry, by Dr. Albert Allen. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 1:00-2:30 PM, and following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Terri’s name may be made to the First Baptist Church, Newberry, building fund.
