Obituary

Tommy Cromer 67 of 4651 Clara Brown Road Newberry died Thursday November 6 2008 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 19 1941 in Newberry County a son of the late Horace R. and Alice Summer Cromer. He was a retired employee of CSX Railroad and a former member of the S.C. National Guard and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Mr. Cromer was a beloved husband father and grandfather and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Terri McCarty Cromer of Newberry; a daughter Tina Cromer Staub and husband Kevin of Irmo; a son Jim Cromer and wife Paige of Newberry; grandchildren Ryan Evan and Braden Staub all of Irmo and Alexandrea and Bethany Cromer both of Newberry; a sister Jean Nichols and husband Bobby of Newberry; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Dale M. Brigman Dixie M. and Shealy Counts and Brenda Cromer all of Newberry. Mr. Cromer was predeceased by a brother Lewis "Doc" Cromer and a granddaughter Sterling Blythe Staub. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Steven Todd and the Rev. Bruce Palmer. Burial were in the Church Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Woodrow Lathrop 7988 S.C.
