Trudy Jewel Abbott Bouknight, 71, of Chapin, died early morning on Thursday, July 11, 2019 with family surrounding her. Born on July 9, 1948 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Ernest "Bunk" and Ola Belle Bobb Abbott. She attended Newberry Church of God. Trudy was a precious "jewel" who loved life. She was a loving mother to her children and gifted with a big heart that embraced everyone. The mountains were her special place and being outdoors, fishing and yard sales brought her lots of happiness. She is survived by her husband, Charles Bouknight; children, Tony Koon of Dallas, Texas, Hope Wilson of Newberry, Robbie Harris (James) of Little Mountain, Cindy Nichols of Batesburg and Diane Koon of Lexington; grandchildren, Courtney Wilson, Brandon Harris (Maranda), Austin Harris, Brittany Dixon (Sammie), Kayla Nichols and Halley Koon; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Scarlett, Mackenzie and Xaviera; sisters, Sandra Riley of Saluda and Judy Brooks of Newberry. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Robert L. Koon, daughter, Tammy Jewel Koon and two sisters. . Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Newberry Church of God with Rev. Timothy Haulbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Bachman Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until 10:45 am prior to the service on Saturday. Other times they will be at the home of Robbie and James Harris, 944 Lindler Field, Little Mountain, SC 29075. Pallbearers will be Brandon Harris, Austin Harris, Greg Crutchfield, Sammie Dixon and Jonathan Raines. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Carroll Pinner and staff and Hospice of South Carolina employees.
