Viola Legiel Lorenc passed away after a brief illness on May 6, 2021 at Springfield Place in Newberry, SC. Viola was born on July 11, 1924 in Lorain, Ohio, and moved to Miami, Florida, in the 1940's, where she met and married Stanley Lorenc, a decorated World War II veteran. She served into her 70s with the Miami-Dade School System in Florida. She traveled widely, including to far flung places like Alaska, Europe, Central America, and Thailand. She is survived by 2 children, Linda Sukovich of Newberry, SC, Joyce Dickerson of Miami, FL. She is also survived by her grandson, Michael Sukovich, and great granddaughter, Livia Sukovich. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, and her 2 sisters, Wanda Revercomb of Miami, Jeanette Fields and her brother Edwin Bolden, both of Elyria, Ohio. Memorial contributions in Viola's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Funeral Services were held in Florida. Whitaker Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
