Virginia "Ginna" Hayes Culbertson, 95, of Newberry, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Agape Hospice House in Lexington. Born on June 20, 1922 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Sease Hayes. Mrs. Culbertson was a home economics teacher at Mid-Carolina High School for many years and taught dance classes in Newberry for fifteen years. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and loved her cocker spaniel, Lucy. She is survived by her grandchildren, Staci Mims (Stephen) and Trey Culbertson (Leah) all of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Rachel Mims, Mary-Margaret Mims, Mia Culbertson, and Luka Culbertson; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Rapp Culbertson; and special family friends, Peach Fralick and Mary Ann Davis. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Russell O'Neal Culbertson; son, Russell O'Neal "Rusty" Culbertson, II; and daughter, Virginia "Tuta" Culbertson. Funeral services will be held at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 4:00 PM conducted by Rev. James Henricks and Rev. David Coffman. Interment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
