Virginia Clara Oxner Renwick, 84, widow of Charles Toland Renwick, died on August 18, 2019 at JF Hawkins Healthcare.
Born in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late James Marvin "Bunt" and Jennie Chapman Oxner.
Virginia worked for Dr. Elbert Dickert for over 40 years as receptionist until his retirement. She then began working at Springfield Place as receptionist in 2005 and remained there until September 2018. Virginia loved working with and serving the public and met many people and friends in her career. She was a member of Cross Point Church in Prosperity.
Her passion was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading and being outdoors. She never missed a ballgame, dance recital, scouting event, church event or any activity that her grandchildren participated in. She dearly loved the puppy companions that she had over the years and took them with her everywhere she went. She is survived by her most recent canine companion Bailey.
Virginia is survived by two sons, Toland "Kojak" Renwick and Randall (Lucia) Renwick both of Newberry. She is also survived by grandchildren, Travis Renwick and Alexis Renwick of Pomaria, Nicholas Renwick of Silverstreet and great grandson Landon Bayer of Pomaria, all of whom brought her incredible joy.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Ethel Marie Renwick.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Timothy Erskine and Pastor Jeff O'Dell officiating.
Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Pall bearers will be Clyde Brown, Jimmy Folk, Keith Harmon, Nicholas Renwick, Travis Renwick and Russell Shealy.
The family will be at the residence of Randall and Lucia Renwick, 2347 Whitener Road, Newberry and will receive friends at the home and immediately following the service.
