Vivian Hiller, 88, of Gray Court, SC died Friday, November 3, 2017 at her residence. Born on September 1, 1929 in Gaffney, SC she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie Price Clark. Mrs. Hiller was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Greenville. She received her nursing degree from Columbia Hospital and served as a general nurse in the US Air Force. After her discharge, she moved to Germany with her husband as he served in the US Army and Air Force. Mrs. Hiller continued her nursing career working in several hospitals and doctors' offices in South Carolina and gaining certification as a rehabilitation nurse. She was a caring and compassionate woman, always looking to take care of those around her. In addition to her love of nursing, she had a passion for crossword puzzles and reading. She enjoyed needlework, painting, and other arts and crafts. Mrs. Hiller loved to travel and at times, be a practical jokester. She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Richard Hiller; daughter, Debra Hiller of Gray Court, son Leland (Deborah) Hiller, Jr. of Fountain Inn; grandson, Brian (Emily) Hiller, great-granddaughter Willow Abigail Hiller; siblings, Frances Sabens of Columbus, GA and Orin Clark of Clinton; and brothers-in-law, Arnold Hiller of Newberry and Joel Hiller of Columbia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Arthur, Helen, Billie Jean, Margie, and Catherine. Funeral services will be conducted by Chaplain Dwight Wagner at 3:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel, Newberry. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service.
