W. H. "Slim" Dunaway, 99, of Newberry died on July 14, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Laurens, SC on June 29, 1921, he was a son of the late William P. and Fannie Puckett Dunaway. He was married to the late Lillie Pearl Lawson Dunaway for more than forty years.
He was retired from American Fiber and Finishing Company, was a member of Clinton First Pentecostal Church, and was a car enthusiast who enjoyed his membership in the Newberry Car Club and the Daytona Car Club.
Among his survivors are his daughters, Myrtle Bouknight of Newberry, Lucille Lollis Daw (Ted) of Chattanooga, TN and Dorothy Bagwell (Kenneth) of Prosperity; a sister, Thelma Willard of Sumter; nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, twenty-one great great grandchildren and five great great great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Harold Dunaway and sisters Loree Lawson, Mary Ethel Tucker and Rachel.
A private funeral service will be held at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry with burial in Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton.
