Waldo Mayer Chapman 87 of 539 Chapman Road Little Mountain died Tuesday July 13 2010 at his residence. Mr. Chapman was born in Little Mountain on January 20 1923 son of the late W. Walter and Annie Lee Mayer Chapman. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Adult Mens Sunday School Class. Mr. Chapman was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and retired from SCE&G where he had worked for 41 years. He loved hunting and fishing and is famous for his tale of getting three turkeys with one shot. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Olive Derrick Chapman; daughter and son-in-law Angela Gail and SFC Jeff Waters of Little Mountain; grandchildren Andrew Christian and Ashlynne Grace Waters; brothers Loyd (Shirby) Chapman of Little Mountain and Cloyd Chapman of Prosperity; a sister-in-law Mary Ruth Chapman of Little Mountain; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Mary Annie McDaniel and a brother Andrew L. Chapman. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Fred Suhr. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Chapin. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Chapman Rodney Chapman Tony Chapman Carey Chapman Louie Chapman Allen Chapman and Kelvin Chapman.
