Wanda Sue Bates Brewer, 70, of Prosperity, SC, died on April 1, 2026.

Born on February 2, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Wilber O. and Lola Morgan Bowers Bates.

She took great pride in her 50+ year career as a dental assistant. She loved hunting, crafting, gardening, and sharing her hobbies with her loved ones.

Wanda was happiest when surrounded by family. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and one of her greatest joys in recent years was becoming a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, Marvin L. Brewer; daughter, Meg Wylds; grandchildren, Andrew and Mary Margaret; son, Luke Brewer (Courtney); grandchildren, Mabel, Bush, and Jesse; and daughter, Rellie Brewer. Wanda is also survived by two sisters and two sisters-in-law, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Whitaker Funeral Home, Newberry. The family will gather for visitation before the service, from 1:00-1:50 P.M., as well as after the service.
