Wilhelmina Johnson Currin 94 of Columbia SC died Thursday February 20 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist. She was married to the late Morris Currin for fifty-five years. Born on October 6 1919 in Wake County NC she was a daughter of the late Lexie and Jodie Horton Johnson. Mrs. Currin was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church and the Agape Sunday School. She was also a member of the Ancient Irmese Red Hat Society. Art and music were a significant part of her years and she shared a lifetime love for Paris France and Maurice Chevalier the French singer actor and entertainer. Mrs. Currin is survived by her sons; Willie Currin and wife Mai of Kurtistown Hawaii and Gary Currin and wife Lynne of Columbia; sisters Colleen Massengill of Wendell NC Mable Watkins of Raleigh NC and Betty Bass of Alexandria VA; grandchildren Alan Loan Son Ben Caroline and Jill; and great grandchildren Dustin Taylor Jayda Ben Amanda Alyssa Alana and Ariya; In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a sister Minnie Sorrell. The family extends special thanks to the residents of Amberly West residents and staff of Generations of Irmo staff of Palmetto Health Baptist staff of Three Rivers Medical Associates and Palmetto Health Hospice. Memorial services were conducted 2:00 PM Saturday at Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Columbia SC by the Rev. Tim Phillips.
