William Allen "Al" Cullens, 86, of Prosperity, SC, died May 23, 2025. Born August 19, 1938, in Tennille, GA, to the late Cecil Lee and Roberta Doris (Hodges) Cullens.

Al grew up in Oceanside, CA, and received an architectural engineering degree. Al proudly served in the US Navy Reserves before a long and successful career as a sales representative with 3M. He was respected for his dedication and expertise, particularly in representing the Pacific Rim territory. His work not only built strong business relationships but also gave him the opportunity to experience and appreciate many cultures.

Al enjoyed a wide array of passions, especially working in the yard and landscaping. Maintaining a beautiful home brought him joy and pride. One of his proudest personal achievements was drawing and designing the floorplan of the home he shared with his beloved wife, Selyanna, on the lake. He was also a talented woodworker, an avid sightseer, and a man with an adventurous spirit that led him to travel the world.

Al is survived by his wife of 38 years, Selyanna, Prosperity, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason (Carey) Cullens, Louisville, KY; Keith (Mary Beth) Cullens, Madison, IN; daughter, Cynthia Chen, Chapin, SC; and four grandchildren, Ben, Sam, Lucy, and Luke.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cecil Cullens.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Whitaker Funeral Home – Chapin.

A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
