William G. Dickert 81 of 1812 Montgomery St. Newberry died Thursday May 8 2003 at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.Mr. Dickert was born on July 17 1921 in Newberry SC a son of the late Yancy T. and Annie SlighDickert. He was an U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran of WW II and he was a retired employee of General Motors. He was a member of Epting Memorial United Methodist Church Amity Masonic Lodge #87 and Order of the Eastern Star Newberry Chapter #226. Mr. Dickert is survived by his wife Ellen W. Dickert of the home; a daughter Barbara J. Warner of Wayland MI; a son William G. Dickert of Los Gatos CA; three brothers Dan Dickert and Roland Dickert both of Newberry and Yancy Dickert of Midlands MI; six grandchildren and spouse Oliver Dickert David and Corrine Larson Jamie Duncan Christopher Larson Reed Dickert and Bradley Warner; and 2 great grandchildren Kirsten and Mark Larson.Funeral services for William G. Dickert will be conducted at 4:00 P. M. Tuesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rebecca Huguley and the Rev. Tony Rowell. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home. The family will be at the residence 1812 Montgomery Street Newberry.
