William Moore Bill Blalock 91 of Newberry died Wednesday August 22 2012 at the J.F. Hawkins Nursing Center. Born on Nov. 16 1920 in Newberry he was a son of the late Lewis Ira and Julia Moore Blalock. Mr. Blalock was an U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII a graduate of Newberry College and the former executive vice-president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank Holly Hill SC. He was a member of the Holly Hill United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Holly Hill Country Club. Mr. Blalock is survived by daughters Susan B. Broom (Ted) of Ambler PA and Morgaan Valerie Sinclair of Lake Arrowhead CA; four grandchildren Jordan Reese (Sarah) and Trevor Broom all of Philadelphia PA Alexandra Bustelo (Jorge) of Ambler PA and Ari Schutz; two great-granddaughters Grace Bustelo and Madalyn Broom and a grandson Cruz Bustelo; and a sister Elizabeth Phillips of Camden. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years Agnes Fuller Blalock a brother Lewis I. Blalock Jr. and his mother and father-in-law Lena Fuller Gambrell and Benjaman Fuller. Memorials services were conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday September 8 2012 in the parlor at Springfield Place in Newberry. Visitation was from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday Sept. 8 at the Whitaker Funeral Home. Interment was at 11:30 AM in Newberry Memorial Gardens following the visitation.
