William D. "Bill" Vaughan, 59, of Newberry died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on Nov. 22, 1956 in Whitmire, he was the son of Charles W. Vaughan and the late Beatrice Yarbrough Vaughan. He retired from S.C. Disabilities and Special Needs after 30 years of service.
Mr. Vaughan was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and was a Fellow and Legionnaire of the Newberry Moose Lodge # 2211. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. His favorite past time was rabbit hunting with his buddies.
Besides his father, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Aleesa Owens Vaughan; step-son, Johnathan Aull of Newberry, who will remember him for teaching him the values of being a man. He is also survived by his grandson, Bryson Aull and his best friend, Barry Saunders of Joanna.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 Monday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jerry Trantham. Interment will be in Colony Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Whitaker Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Hazel, Doc Longshore, Roger Hair, David Gillion, Kenny Hyler, and Al Casper. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Worthy, Robin West, Barry Saunders, Murray Gray, and the Members of the Women of the Moose.
