Obituary

William X. Selinger Bill of Chapin South Carolina died Thursday July 18th 2013 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia SC. Funeral services were conducted at 4:00pm Tuesday July 23rd 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church; Visitation was from 3:00 to 3:45pm at the church on Tuesday prior to the service. Born on January 4th 1942 in Brooklyn New York he was the son of the late Edward J. and Alice Wells Selinger. He served active duty in the U.S. Army and subsequently served in the U.S. National Guard. Bill had a thirty year career with the Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical Company as a Computer Systems Analyst and later retired from Pfiizer Pharmaceutical. He was licensed as an electrical contractor and prior to his corporate retirement formed his own company BXS Electrical Contractors. Bill enjoyed farming & gardening opportunities in earlier years in northwestern New Jersey and using his gardening skills was able to provide fresh produce to the Warner Lambert corporate cafeterias and local restaurants. Feeding and caring for the local wildlife was also a source of much spiritual enjoyment for Bill and his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Catherine Cathie Smith Selinger ; two daughters Diane Marie Selinger of Montclair New Jersey; Beth Ann La Russa of Newcastle Delaware; and a grandson Anthony William LaRussa of Tampa Florida. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Building on Our Faith Fund PO Box 549 Chapin SC 29036.
