W. Jacob Suber, Jr., 98, of Pomaria died Saturday, August 21, 2021.
Born in Pomaria on June 24, 1923, he was a son of the late Willie Jacob Suber, Sr. and Edna Leitzsey Suber.
Jacob was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and his faith was important to him. He said a blessing at every meal and each night his prayer was simply that 'tomorrow be a better day'.

Jacob had a strong work ethic, cutting his own grass well into his 90's. He was a member of the Consolidated # 5 Fire Department and the Newberry Soil and Water Conservation. He had a good sense of humor, loved fishing and gardening, and was honored to share his stories with others. Most importantly, Jacob loved his family and was a second father to numerous nieces and nephews.
Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Helen Boinest Suber, and his sisters, Cornelia Long and Mathilde Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Suber, and sisters, Ethel Smith, Elizabeth Berley, and Marie Sandel.
Graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. Steven D. Jackson on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
