Windsor O. Wicker 65 of 146 St. Pauls Road Pomaria died Tuesday June 25 2013 at Dorn VA Hospital in Columbia. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday June 29 2013 at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry. Interment did follow at St. Pauls Lutheran Church Cemetery Pomaria. Visitation was from 5:30 7:00 PM Friday at the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapin. He was born on May 8 1948 in Pomaria a son of the late Ruby Jackson Wicker and the late Hurel O. Buddy Wicker. Mr. Wicker was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a man of Faith not only studying his Bible daily but living it as well. He began his career as an electrician and worked his way up to Superintendent at a construction company. Mr. Wicker enjoyed doing things with his hands and could always be found fixing or building something. Above all things his family was his main priority. Mr. Wicker is survived by daughters J. Linette Wicker Wright and Rebecca M. (Cory Vaughn) Williams all of Columbia; sisters Roxanne (Ralph) Newton of Arizona and Karen Udensi of Newberry; brothers Daniel A. Wicker of Pomaria and Lindy (Denise) Wicker of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Taylor Huckabee McKaylin Rawls Gabrielle Williams and Kyra Williams; mother of his children Maria Wicker of Columbia; adopted daughter Sheryl Kinard of Newberry; and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Cory Williams Rick Stoudemire Danny Wicker Kevin Lathrop Roger Lathrop and Don Brock.
