Yoder L. Bedenbaugh 76 of Harrington Street in Newberry died Friday February 20 2015 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday February 22 at Whitaker Funeral Home in Newberry. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Monday February 23 at Macedonia Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Randy Derrick. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born on August 14 1938 in Leesville he was a son of the late Andrew J. Bedenbaugh and Louannie Swygert Bedenbaugh. For 50 years Yoder was married to Nina Sue Bedenbaugh who predeceased him on January 29 2015. Mr. Bedenbaugh was a graduate of Batesburg Leesville High School and Newberry College. As a young man he worked for the Twin City News in Batesburg. He retired from American Fiber and Finishing in Newberry but had held manufacturing positions in Pelzer Edgefield Bethune and Newberry while with the Kendall Company. He was a member past president and secretary of the Newberry Lions Club and recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. For years he was a dedicated member of Newberry A.R.P Church where he had served as Deacon Elder Chairman of Congregation and Clerk of Session. Yoder later found a church home with his daughter and her family at Macedonia Lutheran Church where he enjoyed participating in many activities. He is survived by his daughter and her husband Melanie and Patrick Hawkins of Prosperity; son and his wife Andrew and Stephanie Bedenbaugh of Washington DC; grandchildren: Claire Hawkins Ben Hawkins and an expected grandson in April; brother and sister in law Wyman and Betty Bedenbaugh of Leesville. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a brother Wendell Bedenbaugh. Pallbearers will be Donald Wise Leon Fulmer Jr. Jean Williamson Lee Ringer Jimmy Williamson Tommy Bowers Paul Moore John Earl Herbert and Paul Clamp. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Shealy Paul Hawkins Gus Franklin and the members of the Macedonia Goldies. The family will be at the home of his daughter 2728 Bethel Church Rd. Prosperity SC.
