Yvonne Todd Brien, 82, of Chapin, SC passed away on Thursday, April 17th, 2025, at Prisma Health in Columbia, SC after bravely battling a long illness.

She was born Sarah Yvonne Todd on December 9, 1942, in Conway, SC, to the late James Leon Todd and Lella Bell Bellamy. She and her beloved sister Annette were raised in Wampee, Ocean Drive, and Conway, South Carolina. She was blessed with an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins that she loved dearly and spent a lot of time with while growing up. She especially cherished her memories of the family farm with her Uncle Gifford and Aunt Berta.

She graduated from Conway High School in 1961 and attended Augusta College in Georgia. Yvonne married Robert L. Brien in 1964 and lived a life filled with adventure, traveling extensively around the world. They made Bad Kreuznach, Germany, their first home in the mid-1960s, where her eldest daughter, Garen, was born. They eventually settled in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, to raise their three lovely daughters, Garen, Andrea, and Alison. Yvonne loved entertaining, gardening, cooking, tennis, animals, and was actively involved in her community. In the 1980s, she moved to Columbia, South Carolina to help care for her sister and mother.

She was employed with First Citizens Bank and later Lawyer's Title. After retirement, she was finally able to realize her lifelong dream of moving back to Myrtle Beach, SC, to live near her adored cousin June Bayman. Sadly, she was predeceased in death by her parents, her amazing and devoted daughter Alison Brien Allen, and her beloved sister Annette Todd Powell.

She is survived by her two incredible daughters, Garen Brien Sherwood (James Donelan), of Chapin, and Andrea Louise Brien (Jessy Amblo), of North Ferrisburgh, VT, and her grandchildren, William Thaddeus Sherwood, Andrew Taylor Sherwood (Alexa), and Griffin Laughter Allen.

A memorial service will be held at Whitaker Funeral Home at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, located at 939 Chapin Rd, Chapin, SC 29036.  Chaplin Mark Bradholt will be officiating the service.
